Web Summit is one of the world’s leading technology conferences.
The Ford SYNC® AppLink™ Developer Challenge allowed entrepreneurs, app development teams and individuals to work with Ford engineers and our executives to create new software and ideas for potential use with Ford’s award-winning in-car connectivity system, SYNC.
SYNC is Ford’s integrated in-vehicle connectivity system that allows drivers to make hands-free telephone calls, control music and perform other functions with the use of voice commands. AppLink for SYNC gives drivers voice control of smartphone apps, allowing them to keep their hands on the wheel and focus on the road. This type of in-car app innovation is part of Ford’s plans to develop a more connected in-car experience.
The first prize winner of the Tel Aviv Challenge was “Wake Me App,” which monitors drivers for signs of drowsiness in specific stages, and issues escalating alerts accordingly. “Drive Efficient” was the winner of the SYNC AppLink Developer Challenge Dublin, designing an application that can help people drive more fuel efficiently by monitoring whether they are over- or under-revving the engine, and whether they are making best use of the engine’s torque. The app provides verbal and visual feedback to encourage good driving behaviour and warn when fuel consumption could be improved.
WeiserMazars provided in-kind consulting services for the top winners, ranging from assistance with tax, accounting and other financial advisory services to automotive and business consulting.
We are extremely pleased to be part of these Challenges and to be working so closely with Ford and the broader Mazars community.
